What it does

First launch helps you add the keyboard. After that, these features work in any text field.

Voice input

Live
Hold to speak and text appears right away — no waiting until you finish. Release to send, slide down to cancel. Settings call this Direct Output.
Talk
Tap once, then speak. uMate cleans up the text before it goes on screen — better for messages and longer notes.
Keeps recording
After recording starts, closing the keyboard or locking the phone won’t stop it. You can walk and keep talking.
History
Open the uMate app to find what you said. Play it back, edit the text, then use it again.

Mixed Chinese and English
Type pinyin and English in one go — no switching back and forth. Optional space between scripts; turn it off in Settings.
26-key, fourteen-key, nine-key
Three layouts. Pick the one you already use. You can also switch from the keyboard More menu.
Swipe-up characters
Swipe up on a key to insert a number or symbol, without opening another keyboard page.
Long-press popup
Hold a key to see extra characters — useful for variants and symbols.
Snippets
Save phrases you type often, then insert them from the keyboard toolbar.
Clipboard
While the keyboard is open, it remembers what you just copied, so you can paste it again.

Keyboard Studio
Change colors, key height, and layout. You can also edit swipe-up and long-press on each key.
On-device speech
Recognition uses Apple’s on-device speech by default, so audio stays on this device. An online engine is used only after you confirm.
Cleanup stays off
Text cleanup is off until you select a provider in the list. Then only the current text is sent — never the recording.
iPhone and Mac
The same input method on both. This device decides what syncs over iCloud. Recordings and clipboard stay here.
